What
kind of connection does Panaserve have to the Internet?
Our servers
are connected to the Internet with redundant DS3 lines through UUNet, GTE, and
Sprint. They are located at a physically secure, climate-controlled site in downtown
Minneapolis, MN. There is also full generator power-supply backup, and a specialized
chemical-based fire extinguishing system designed to put out fires without harming
computer equipment.
What
kind of Servers are used at Panaserve?
Compaq Proliant
rack-mount servers with high-speed, hot-swapable SCSI drives, and plenty of memory
and processing power. We are running Windows 2000 Server OS, which we believe
is the best all around choice for multimedia and database needs.
What
about data backups?
All customer
data is backed up to tape nightly.
Where
can I find out if the domain name I'm interested in is available?
You can
call Panaserve directly and we'll give you free assistance in finding a domain
name. Or, you can try looking at www.verisign.com
or www.register.com.
Is
E-Mail included with web site hosting accounts?
Yes. All
hosting accounts include Web, E-Mail, and FTP services.
Are
there any setup or transfer fees?
There is
a one time set up fee of $25 for Starter Sites. This fee is waived when purchasing
Basic or Advanced hosting accounts There is also a $15 charge if you wish to have
Panaserve purchase or renew a domain name for you. This is in addition to any
yearly interNIC fees for domain names (which is typically $35/year).
Do
I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. Hosting
accounts are billed quarterly, and can be cancelled at any time.
